An Amazon.com website seller has launched a new brand of “blankets” for the company’s customers to keep warm in a bid to save money.
The company says it will be selling 10 blankets for $8.99 each at its stores nationwide.
The product, called “Amazon’s Blankets,” will be made of 100% wool and is made to last for up to a year, Amazon said.
It said the blankets will come in four sizes and come in the white, grey, light pink, and black colors.
The blanket is the third product from the online retailer and first blanket in the US.
Amazon said in a blog post that the blanket is an “industry first,” adding that it will sell the product on its website as well as through its online store.
The website will offer customers a “free delivery” option on its site.
The brand has been launched in the wake of the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, which killed 20 children and six adults.
The shooter, Adam Lanza, had a “modest” background, according to the FBI.
Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos told analysts last month that the company expects to add about 1 million new products this year, according in the company blog post.
The retailer said it expects to sell about $2.3 billion in goods and services in 2017.
